White Angel Animal Hospital

Providing the pets of Lakeway and the greater Lake Travis area with tender, loving health care

Liat Zilkha, DVM

Dr Zilkha is the founder and sole owner of White Angel Animal Hospital. Dr Zilkha was born in Israel and her family moved to Texas when she was under a year old.  She was raised in Houston and moved to Austin to pursue her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology before going to vet school at Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked at two very busy advanced small animal hospitals in Coral Springs, Florida for a year prior to moving back to Austin.  There, she developed a strong background of practicing progressive, high-quality medicine and developed strong client communication skills.

In 2008, Dr Zilkha developed an interest in an experimental treatment for Canine Distemper, a very contagious and often fatal viral disease that affects many animals including dogs and ferrets.  She began to treat terminally ill patients and found that many survived.  She has seen people who drove their dogs to Austin from as far as California and Missouri for the treatment as she is one of only a handful of veterinarians that perform it. She is continuing to use this protocol and to advise other interested veterinarians on its use in the hopes that it will one day prove to be an effective treatment for Distemper.

In her free time, Dr Zilkha enjoys spending time with her husband, their lovely daughters Maya and Jordan, and their 3 dogs, a Labrador Retriever named “BisLee” & two new malamute puppies coming soon!

Lenore Corazza

Lenore is our office manager & has worked in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She enjoys the work she does & being a part of the Lakeway community. Originally from NJ, she has lived all over the United States & even in Puerto Rico for 5 years where she started a nonprofit saving stray animals. The part of her job she loves the most is managing her outstanding staff & helping clients’ pets live happy healthy lives. She enjoys training new staff how to be outstanding leaders in the veterinary field and educating them as well as clients on health care for fur babies.

Lenore is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association and will be CVPM certified 2017. Lenore’s rescued fur family includes Durdy (Puerto Rican mix), Charlie (Pomeranian), Jerry, Cabo, Tex, & Bunny (Chihuahuas), Dakota & Roxy (Great Danes), Lulu (Louisianian mix)  & 6 diamond doves. When she isn’t taking care of all of those animals she enjoys paddle boarding, yoga, movie nights, & working on her clothing company.

Ali

Our friendly face at the front desk! Ali graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Developmental Family Science with a specialization in Addictive Disorder Recovery Services. After she graduated, she moved to Austin and decided to aim her focus on one of the most important family members: the furbabies! She is new to the veterinary field but is not new to the animal world.

Ali has three furbabies of her own, Isabelle (German Shepard/Rottweiler mix), Leo (Pitbull), and Fiona (black cat). She is ecstatic to work in the veterinary field so that she can reach a variety of families in a meaningful way!

Gabbi

Sarah (Gabbi) began working in the veterinary field in 2010 as a receptionist. From there she has been a vital part of every aspect of the veterinary field from kennels to Vet Tech to her current position as a receptionist. Sarah’s unconditional love and compassion for every single client is what makes her special.
Sarah has a mini Noah’s Ark which includes: 2 dogs, Claire and Kaylee, 1 cat, Simba,1 fish, King Bob and her daughter Raygan. When she is not working, or playing with her baby girl. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Baron

Baron has been nominated as our official greeter.  He has also appointed himself as our dog-teaser, which is his favorite part of his job.  Baron joined the team in March of 2012, when Dr Zilkha saw him at the Austin Humane Society and adopted him.  He decided that Dr Zilkha's house did not have enough dogs to tease or people to mingle with, so he opted to stay at White Angel.

In his free time, Baron enjoys laying on the couch, bird-watching, and pretending that he is a tiger.  His absolute favorite hobby is getting on top of a large pile of fresh clean laundry.
